Violinist James Anderson has been praised as a world-class violinist, improviser, and composer known for a style that seamlessly bridges tradition and innovation. A Fort Collins, Colorado native who began playing at age five, he is fluent across genres including classical, jazz, tango, and bluegrass, and has appeared on more than 40 recordings.

After earning a scholarship to the University of Northern Colorado, James became a leading performer across the region, presenting over 100 performances annually and serving as concertmaster of its award-winning orchestras. He later pursued graduate studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, performing internationally at venues such as Wigmore Hall and the Barbican Centre while collaborating with artists including Mark O'Connor, Eddie Vedder, and Chaka Khan.

His credits span film, television, and composition, with work featured in Bernie, Archer, and Smash, and performances by ensembles including the Wilmington Symphony Orchestra.
